Members Weekly Update
Week Commencing 13/02/06
The weather this week has
severely hampered the on going projects on the course. However, there has been
some progress achieved.
|
·
The 1st
tee area refurbishment has continued with steps and sleeper edging
installed for the Ladies. We hope to make further future improvements. |
|
|
·
Edging
paths and borders has started around the clubhouse and this will be on
going. |
|
|
·
The area
for the artificial turf has been prepared for the installation of the
turf at the 13th tee. The turf has been laid out on the area
and will be secured next week. |
 |
|
·
Newly laid
turf at the 12th and 13th bunkers has been cut in.
There will be a small amount of turf laying at the 12th next week and
the remainder of the area will be seeded. |
 |
|
·
Refurbishment of course furniture has continued: good progress is being
made on tee markers and posts. |
 |
|
·
An
application of iron has been made to the greens and some tees – a
further application with soil conditioners will occur next week. |
The Village greens have not taken
kindly to this weeks’ rainfall, therefore temporary greens have been in play.
Some remedial work is required over the forthcoming weeks to try to improve rate
of water movement through the rootzone on certain greens i.e.: 1st and 9th.
Hollow tining and back filling with a soil amendment material will help to
alleviate this problem.
Other work for next weeks’
program will include topping up sand levels in bunkers.
