Captain’s Challenge is there to be won! - 12/12/2007 14:48:18

You will all know that the Captain’s Challenge is an Honours Board competition and involves pairs playing a better ball Stableford game against the Club Captain and a partner (usually the Vice Captain or another committee member)...
The entry fee is a donation to the Captains’ Charity. Members can challenge as a pair in a head to head against The Captain and partner, or through a “virtual challenge” during a regular club competition. For details of the virtual challenge approach, go to the OPGCMA website, click on “Captains’ Charity” then “Activities” then “Captain’s Challenge”. (I will also post details on the Mixed Notice Board). I will post a sign-up sheet on the Mixed Notice Board indicating days I will be available to take on head to head challengers. Just find a partner, sign up and I’ll contact you to finalise details. In addition, I plan to play in all the Stablefords between now and the end of February and I will put out a sign-up sheet for the virtual challenges alongside the Competitions Book at each of these (as long as we are not on temporary greens). Just read the details for sign-up on the website or on the Mixed Notice Board. There are some scores already posted but they are most certainly beatable! This could be your chance to get your name up on the Honours Board this club year and time runs out at the end of February! Why not give it a try? It’s fun and for a good cause. Allen Leech (Club Captain)
